“Bestest Friends”. Nelson had these two words embroidered on the inside of his suit jacket. A perfect description of Nelson and Lizzie’s relationship. They were thrown a few unforeseen hurdles while planning (& re-planning) their wedding day but together created their special day and each part perfectly reflecting them.

I first met Lizzie and Nelson at Starbucks on New Year’s Day and learned their story started almost two decades ago!

With almost two decades of memories, the beginning of Lizzie and Nelson’s story has deep roots all the way back to first grade when they first met. They were both part of a mutual group of friends, whom they are still close with to this day! Fast forward several years and their friendship grew into dating during a choir trip to Disneyland. Since Disneyland, they have walked through some of life’s biggest moments side by side. From moving cross country together for law school to a surprise road trip to New York City for Nelson’s amazing proposal in Central Park and now starting the next phase of their life as Mr. & Mrs.

From the beginning to end of their wedding day, the out pouring of love and excitement from their family and friends radiated through each part of their day. I felt this the moment I stepped into the bridal suite and to top it off, they had the most beautiful day to celebrate with 80 degree temperatures!

Looking at the entire day, what I loved most was the time, effort and intention Lizzie and Nelson invested to personalize the day and create an inclusive, loving environment for all their family and friends. The personalization was evident in the attire details hand picked for the day – engraved cuff links for Nelson and Lizzie’s jewelry. They approached selecting their bridal party with the perspective on creating one bridal party with their closest friends and family to stand beside both of them with a close friend selected in the horary position of officiating their wedding. These closest eight friends and family also helped wrap up the couple’s first dance by joining them on the dance floor for one big, dance party to celebrate the newlyweds!
