Ohio weather was in full force the morning of Rachel and Joe’s wedding at Darby House in Columbus, Ohio! The morning of the wedding began with severe thunderstorms, including lightening, thunder, a torrential downpour and 60+ mph winds. Fast forward a couple hours and the weather could not have been more perfect!
As the sun shined down, Rachel and Joe shared a private, first look moment before we headed on the golf cart for portraits. Portraits at Darby House are always such a dream! The historic estate, offers endless locations from the tree lined mile drive to the secluded bridge over Big Darby Creek.
As Rachel and Joe tucked away before the ceremony, guests were welcomed to their seat at the beautiful, outdoor ceremony overlooking the Big Darby Creek. With grandparents and parents looking on, Rachel and Joe exchanged vows then took their first walk together as husband and wife down the aisle. Guests enjoyed an indoor and outdoor cocktail hour in the Racing Room and on the patio before gathering for the reception celebration.
The celebration kicked off with the sweetest speeches from Rachel’s father, the Maid and Matron of Honor and the Best Man. Having had the opportunity to photograph Rachel and Joe’s engagement session, I knew first hand they are such a sweet, kind-hearted couple! Listening to the speeches and hearing the impact Rachel and Joe have had on their family, friends and people they encounter further confirmed, their impact stretches far and wide. Approaching others with the same love they have experienced through Jesus.
As speeches drew to a close, the party shifted to the Racing Room with special dances followed by a packed dance floor! Rachel and Joe’s friends know how to rock a dance floor! Dancing circles, the train and throwing Joe in the air, the dance floor was full until the farewell sparkler exit!
Mr. and Mrs. Horton – Wishing you all the best and thank you for the honor to document the beginning of your marriage!
