Engagement Session at Ohio State House in Columbus, Ohio

It is always important to consider the backdrop when selecting a location for an engagement session. In Columbus, Ohio during colder months, it is even more important to focus on architecture in the background! The Ohio State House is stunning and a perfect backdrop for an engagement session round, especially in November! Not to mention, it is one of my top recommendations for couples. The architecture, light stone and columns provide a timeless, clean backdrop. It allows my couples to be the main focus of all their images!

Lindsey and Marc are planning a summer wedding at Revery-North 4th Corridor to celebrate with family and friends under the glass rooftop. When talking through a location for their engagement session, our goal was to align with the style of their wedding. The location for their session needed to have a classy, timeless and elevated ambience. The Ohio State House was the perfect match.

Following the classic look, Lindsey added a twist of modern with her square neck dress while still giving off lots of timeless vibes in a black, midi dress. Marc’s suit corresponded with Lindsey’s dress and the outfits together created perfection!

We began their session in front of the State House as I learned more about their story. Most of their relationship was long-distance as Lindsey lived in Texas and Marc resided in Columbus, Ohio. The two finally called Columbus their home together after Lindsey relocated to Ohio – very fitting since both are big Ohio football fans! We made our way around Capital Square before heading to German Village to snap the last round of portraits for the evening.
