The Vue | Columbus, Ohio

Kayla and Matt’s love story has strong roots tied to downtown Columbus, Ohio. They wanted their wedding day at The Vue to reflect those roots. It was so fun incorporating locations special to them in portraits through out the day.

Their wedding day began at The Westin for getting ready images. Kayla and Matt reserved suites to ensure there would be enough space for their wedding party and vendors. The suites were perfect and spacious enough that we were able to plan the first looks with parents in the suite. This provided a much needed private area for Kayla and her Dad then Matt and his Mom.

After parent first looks it was time for the much anticipated bride and groom first look! One of the meaningful locations in downtown Columbus, Ohio is Front street. The stone street and brick buildings made a great backdrop for their first look on Front Street! After seeing each other, their two golden doodles joined in the fun for portraits! Sampson and Harley are the sweetest four legged friends I have photographed! Their sweet nature and fun loving personalities were a joy to photograph at the engagement session and wedding day!

Once Sampson and Harley headed home, the wedding party headed to Scioto Mile for the remaining portraits. One of my favorite benefits of a bride and groom first look is the soon-to-be newlyweds get to spend so much time together and with their wedding crew! Kayla and Matt frequently spent time at Scioto Mile for date nights, walks and with friends. Having their wedding portraits there was a perfect fit to reflect their story together as they began their marriage!

The Ceremony and Reception

Getting ready for their ceremony, we headed a few minutes down the road to The Vue. Matt and Kayla’s dear friend officiated their wedding. Tying the knot and sealing the deal in front of family and friends, they ended their walk down the aisle with a dip and kiss!

The beautiful weather continued as the sun set in downtown Columbus, Ohio. The sunset portraits outside of The Vue for Kayla and Matt are some of my favorites! We finished the last round of portraits for the day and headed into the reception for the newlyweds to dance the night away! Guests packed the dance floor all night with light sticks and even the limbo!
