Kingwood Gardens Wedding | Lauren & Nick

When your high school sweetheart and best friend proposes to you in a snow-covered forest lit by fairy lights, you say yes! This is exactly where Lauren and Nick’s story begins, but today, we are going to immerse ourselves in their Kingwood Gardens wedding! From the colorful details, to the night under the stars. This wedding made my Columbus wedding photographer heart soar!

Lauren & Nick

Their story starts all the way back in high school. Nick had gotten one too many concussions from basketball, so he made the switch over to the swim team. Lauren had been competitively swimming for 10 years, so she and her friends helped train Nick. And the rest is history!

Kingwood Gardens Wedding Venue

The couple had a dream garden wedding at Kingwood Gardens. The venue is just about an hour north of Columbus, Ohio, and is such a romantic outdoor venue. In addition to having stunning outside gardens and lawns, Kingwood Gardens offers tables, chairs, parking, catering and so much more! Including indoor backup options for events.

First Look & Private Vows

Lauren and Nick’s wedding day had a shaky forecast. In fact, they almost opted to move their entire wedding indoors! So, when it was lightly sprinkling during their first look, I was getting worried. However, as Lauren walked up to meet her groom under a clear umbrella, it magically stopped raining! The couple was able to share private vows with one another during this time, and to make the moment even better, a peacock made an appearance.

Reception

The rain continued to hold off for the rest of the day, which was amazing as Lauren and Nick decided to take the risk of their outdoor wedding despite the forecast. This decision totally paid off! Especially for their outdoor wedding reception.

The reception was colorfully decorated in the most elegant way possible. Speeches were given, everyone was tearing up, and the DJ even played the saxophone during the mother-groom dance! Then once the sunset the party began under the night sky to close out a perfect garden wedding!

It was an absolute joy to capture Lauren and Nick’s Kingwood Gardens wedding in Ohio! Like what you see and want to snag a spot on my calendar? Reach out and let’s connect!
