From prom royalty to Mr and Mrs., Aris and Emily have walked through many transitional years together from their early days of dating as seniors in high school.
The latest and most exciting is their walk down the aisle. After dating for five and half years, Aris disguised his proposal as a photo opportunity for a Christmas card with their pup Koda. After taking a few pictures for the “Christmas card”, Aris asked Emily to turn around. As she turned around, Koda proudly sported a sign with “Mommy, will you marry Daddy?”. Aris even managed to grab a few pictures of Emily’s reaction as she said “Yes”!
Fast forward a year and half and their big day had arrived! What started with rain showers turned into the most beautiful sunset at Virtues Golf Club in Newark, Ohio. From the very beginning, I loved how intentional Aris and Emily were to include details that held significance to them. Starting with their wedding details, Emily included the necklace Aris gifted to her for her 18th birthday. Aris wore the watch Emily gifted him – which is only worn on special occasions. And…we had to get a portrait with the prom crowns! How often do the Senior Prom King and Queen end up getting married?! We had to pull those out of the closet for at least one portrait!
From wedding details to dances, Aris and Emily’s day was packed full of emotion. There were more than a few tears shed during the Father Daughter and Mother Son dances as images from their childhood flashed across the backdrop. But it wasn’t all tears. The Maid of Honor and Best Man speeches commanded laughs across the entire room. From jokes about third wheels and “handing in” keys to Aris’s apartment that no longer had a need the MOH and Best Man captured everyone’s attention.
