So…you are engaged!?! Congratulations, this is such an exciting time! Beginning wedding planning is so much fun! After you have booked your venue, planner and photographer, it is time to begin planning your engagement session. I love helping style my couples’ engagement sessions to make their session enjoyable from start to finish! Today, I’m sharing my favorite Columbus, Ohio engagement session locations!

Franklin Park

Franklin Park is a hidden gem in the middle of Columbus, Ohio! Located next to the Franklin Park Conservatory, the park includes open green space and European inspired manicured gardens. You’ll also find the famous tree lined pathway at Franklin Park!

Ohio State House

The Ohio State House has stunning architecture and is always a fan favorite! The tall columns, light stone and surrounding grounds provide a timeless backdrop for your engagement session.

Scioto Mile (Genoa Park)

The Scioto Mile area has so many great locations for an engagement session so I’m breaking this location into a few parts. Within the area, Genoa Park is one of my favorites. The architecture at the back of COSI gives a European feel and the riverbank is steps away for so much variety!

Park of Roses

Park of Roses is the perfect location for a polished, garden vibe. The roses are in bloom during June and the mid to second half of June are typically the best weeks!

German Village

German Village is know for its quaint and charming feel, just south of downtown Columbus, Ohio. There are endless streets, restaurants and old brick homes to stroll through during an engagement session. German Village is a wonderful location to use year round and Spring time is my favorite! The flowering trees line the brick streets with white and light purple petals!

High Banks Metro Park

High Banks Metro Park is full of open fields and tall trees for an engagement session focused on nature. If interested in a picnic inspired engagement session, High Banks Metro Park is a great choice.

Your Venue

Depending on your venue, it could be a great option for your engagement session! If your venue sits on a large property I would recommend checking with the venue to see if they allow engagement photography. A few wedding venues in Columbus, Ohio that are perfect for engagement photography are: Retreat 21, Darby House and Jorgensen Farms.
