The 2023 wedding season kicked off with Catie and Derek’s beautiful Bryn Du Mansion wedding. During our initial consultation call, I remember Catie telling me that they were planning (& hoping) for an outdoor ceremony and an indoor back up. Just in case because weather in Ohio during April is unpredictable at best!

Fast forward to the morning of Catie and Derek’s wedding. We could not have planned for a more beautiful day if we tried! The temperatures warmed up to the 70s (so exciting in Ohio!) and the sun was out in full force all day.

With stunning weather, we were able to take full advantage of Bryn Du Mansion’s property grounds for first looks, bride and groom first touch and portraits! One of my favorite moments of the entire day was the bride and groom first touch.

When couples choose the grand moment of seeing each other walking down the aisle, I always recommend to plan to intentionally connect earlier in the day. It could be through a note or planning a first touch. Catie and Derek planned a first touch and it was the sweetest! It gave them time to settle nerves and talk before the ceremony. I loved hearing how excited and ready they were to get married less than an hour and to begin their life together!
