I met Jeremy and Alyssa via zoom in April, about a month after Jeremy proposed and I could not wait to meet them in person for their engagement session! They met at Wright State while studying engineering (Alyssa also majored in French!), played soccer together and were even neighbors! One of my favorite parts of how they told their story, is how they ended it “…and have been laughing and having fun together since!”. This line sums up not only their relationship but the energy they emit as a couple – they were a blast to hang with for the evening!

Before we can get into how amazing their engagement session was, I have to give Jeremy so much credit for his quick thinking and flexibility with his proposal. Jeremy had a full day of events planned for Alyssa – all super meaningful from their first date spot to their favorite activities (I have been told they are a power duo at the arcade!), a proposal on Wright State’s campus and a huge dinner of 30 friends and family to celebrate!! So much planning and thoughtfulness!! Then covid happened….

A full six days ahead of the planned proposal, restaurants began shutting down…Jeremy called their family to let them know the proposal was happening that day! He snuck in a trip to their first date spot and the arcade before asking Alyssa if she’d marry him in the middle of Wright State campus with her dream ring – cue all the feels!!

Now, about their engagement session. We started at Inniswoods where the glow was unreal (so dreamy) and ended at Franklin Park. My favorite part of their session happened in the last 15 minutes. We were just about ready to leave when the cafe lights turned on and I asked them to dance. The area was completely empty and in that moment, I had the opportunity to capture the raw emotion of Alyssa and Jeremy getting a glimpse into what their first dance will be like as husband and wife next year – such a sweet moment to end the session on!!
