Rachael and Dan’s wedding at the Athletic Club of Columbus with portraits at the Ohio State House was full of class, love and legacy.
I met Rachael and Dan about two years before their wedding at their engagement session. We spent time together at the Ohio State House and Franklin Park. Rachael’s green dress for her engagement session is still one of my favorite dresses I have photographed!
The style Rachael and Dan brought to their engagement session was magnified for their wedding at the Athletic Club of Columbus. The Athletic Club architecture is Italian influenced and is the perfect setting for a wedding.
The ladies spent the morning getting ready in the guest rooms on-site. After finishing hair and make up we moved to the formal reception space for the Rachael and Dan’s first touch. Surrounded by a floor to ceiling glass arched window, they read private vows to each other prior to the ceremony.
As Rachael and Dan rested in private rooms prior to the ceremony and exchanged gifts. Guests filled the ceremony space lined with large, glass chandeliers. As Rachael entered the aisle, Dan overcome with emotion, saw his bride for the first time walking down the aisle. After exchanging rings, rose petals filled the aisle as the newlyweds made their first walk together!
During cocktail hour with the wedding party and newlyweds, we made our way through the windy streets to the Ohio State House for portraits. Rachael and Dan had the best attitudes during portraits! It was a chilly October day with strong winds as storms were rolling in that weekend. The weather didn’t phase them and their images are so timeless!
Thankfully the Ohio State House is a block from the Athletic Club of Columbus so our walk back was short! Once back, the newlyweds prepared for their entrance. Family and friends celebrated all night long with a packed dance floor. As the DJ closed the floor with one final song, the celebration continued downstairs at the bowling alley in the Athletic club.
