Best day ever. Sophia told me repeatedly during their engagement session that their Wedgwood Country Club Wedding would be the best day ever. And it really was! As a Columbus wedding photographer I get to photograph a lot of beautiful wedding days, but Sophia and Dean’s wedding was different in how intentional and joyful it was!

A Sacred Morning

Meaningful moments on your wedding day don’t just happen. A lot of the time, you have to plan them. Sophia and Dean were intentional on their wedding day, creating opportunities for memories and thoughtful details. For example, Sophia had a very sweet first look with her dad. While Dean’s pocket square came from his late grandmother’s wedding dress.

The couple then had a first touch at St. Andrew Parish in Columbus before their ceremony to calm any nerves and to connect one last time before becoming husband and wife. Then they proceeded with their ceremony, which actually held a surprise for their guests! Sophia and Dean chose to serve their guests communion during their Catholic mass. This was a surprise that they were looking forward to.

Wedgwood Country Club Wedding

Sophia and Dean’s wedding reception was a hoot! After a series of toasts from Sophia’s sisters, Dean’s best man, and sister, there was a dance between the bride and her father. They started with a fun dance to club-like music, then had the slow dance before ending it with more pop dance music. The entire thing was very fun and playful! At one point, the father of the bride slapped his butt to the lyrics “smack that”! Honestly, I was laughing so hard while photographing! It was the best!

The dance floor was packed the entire night with friends and family. At one point, the DJ played “Good Thing” by Kip Moore (Dean is a huge fan!), and the guests cheered ton Sophia and Dean as they danced together.
